Next week is Family Literacy Week! Literacy is not only the ability to read, but also to interpret information in many forms. In particular, digital literacy is becoming very important as we rely on technology to share information more and more. Next week, families are encouraged to explore literacy opportunities together. Check out some of the ways that you can participate below: At Noel Booth, we will be holding a Literacy Bingo contest. Students can collect a Bingo card from the Library Learning Commons. Ask Mrs. Boyce or Ms. Stiles for a card, stop by and collect a card from one of the two folders taped near each LLC door, or print and fill out the card below. Be sure to return your cards by February 2nd if you would like to be entered in the draw for a prize!
If you are looking for more activities, there are some great resources available at ABCLife Literacy, including a downloadable booklet and a virtual visit with author/illustator Barbara Reid: https://abclifeliteracy.ca/all-programs/family-literacy-day/ Or, check out this fun Family Scavenger Hunt from the Langley Literacy Network:
