On Sept 30, we honour and recognize the children that were sent away to residential schools in Canada by learning about the history of these schools and wearing orange. The FVRL pairs students in grades 1-3 with older students to support them with reading. This year, reading buddies will meet online via Zoom. To register, see the attached flyer. Registration is due Sept 20! 2020 has been quite the year, but we are so happy to see so many smiling faces back in our classrooms and hallways! I look forward to seeing everyone again and am proud to work at a school that is so dedicated to bringing our staff and students back into the school safely. Coming up: September 15th (ish) is International Dot Day, a tribute to the book The Dot by Peter Reynolds. In honour of Dot Day, some of us will be creating dots in our classrooms or the learning commons. For those of you that want more, here are some fun activities for you to try at home.
